What's Up New York builds further on the success of the previous shows in London, pulling together the work of 50 international contemporary artists working in painting, drawing, sculpture, and Virtual Reality. This diversity reflects the exciting and dynamic contemporary art scene, whilst the scale of the show will provide a broad-spectrum overview and showcase current trends. What’s Up New York coincides with Frieze Art Fair and has been curated around the idea of parallels and pairing. The exhibition creates thematic and visual dialogues between the works of up-and-coming artists and those of more established ones. This dynamic enables the younger generation to show alongside institutional figures, whilst also highlighting the work of reputable artists of an older generation. What’s Up New York aims to generate discussions and provide answers concerning recurring themes, the constitution of a visual language, and the interplay of contemporary trends with previous artistic expressions.
