Bianca Argimon

Biography

b. 1988 Brussels, Belgium

Lives and works in Paris

Bianca Argimon’s humorous pencil drawings present a vision of the world as though seen through the eyes of our younger selves. With childlike frankness, Argimon deconstructs familiar images from popular culture to offer an alternative narrative, one in which fantasy and the quotidian are eerily co-present. The artist’s playful reimagining of well-known superhero characters suggests the omnipotence of mass culture in the twenty-first century, and its role as a currency for social, moral and political change.
