British artist Lauren Keeley employs a complex array of artistic methods to create tranquil scenes of nature and domesticity. Equal parts sculpture and mixed-media collage, Keeley’s artworks collocate the natural and the manmade to demonstrate the synergy between the two. This is reified by her use of materials – which include a variety of woods, linen, paints, and photographic printing processes – and her seamless combination of traditional crafts with more modern technologies. The physicality of Keeley’s layered canvases augments their immersive narratives, tales that seem to evolve as our eyes move across the artwork.
