Juan Mejia

Biography

b. Medellín, Colombia 1965

Working primarily in sculpture, Juan Mejia creates three-dimensional works that play with space and form. These frequently minimalistic works reflect his training as an architect in their innovative approach to design. The artist has worked in many mediums, including sintra - a plastic material from which he carved the Signos series - and rusted steel, emblematic of Origami, a series of folded sculptures.
