Ana Cardoso

Biography

b. Lisbon 1978

Born in 1978, Ana Cardoso is a Portuguese artist who works in a wide range of media including paintings, collages, objects, text and sound. She lives and works in Brooklyn. In 2006 she received her MFA from Hunter College — CUNY, New York; in 2002 she received a BFA (Licenciatura) from FBAUL, the Fine Arts University of Lisbon, and in 2001 she attended UdK — Universität der Künste, Berlin. Cardoso has had one-person exhibitions at Museu do Chiado — MNAC Contemporary Art Museum, Lisbon; Jablonka Maruani Mercier, Knokke; Andrew Rafacz, Chicago; Múrias Centeno, Lisbon / Porto; Maisterravalbuena, Madrid; Conduits, Milan; Pedro Cera, Lisbon; Southfirst, Brooklyn. She had two-person exhibitions with Christian Bonnefoi at Longhouse Projects, New York; with Tim Pierson at Four A.M., New York; with Merike Estna at Múrias Centeno, Porto; and with Boris Achour, Soloway, Brooklyn.
